Question Can't make the old-school ActiveMovie player my default

Aight so on my previous install of XP Pro I had made ActiveMovie player (not MPlayer) my default player ( I hate WMP, ugh) now I've installed XP Media edition and installed ActiveMovie. Problem I'm having is that I've tried to do all the usual associations and they don't associate ActiveMovie as the player of choice, the only way I can use the player is by Start> Run> %windir%\system32\rundll32.exe amovie.ocx,RunDll .... it's a pain when I know that there's an easier way. Someone know how to get it done? Thanks for your time people.
