Windows Media Player remains as default player
I prefer to use VLC media player. When I open an .mp3 file, click on choose programs, choose VLC (Windows Media Player shows up as default) and choose "always open this kind of file with this program" the file will play with VLC. The icon does not change to the VLC icon, though, indicating something's not kosher. And sure enough, if I go to play the same file again, the default is still Windows Media Player. Is there something else to do to to make VLC Media Player the default?

Hello my friend,
Open WMP and click TOOLS/OPTIONS/FILETYPES and uncheck the ones you do not want WMP being the default for...... Now you should be able to permantly assign VLC to them Good luck! |
