I was reading a little further and noticed that I needed to list the types of problems I am experiencing:
Slow running programs.
Pop up windows every five minutes or so, even when I'm not using Internet Explorer.
My home page was changed.
I downloaded several "free" registry cleaners that scanned my system and said I have all kinds of problems and then want me to pay 24.95 to get the software to fix them....spyware programs don't seem to help.

No need to purchase any programs to get the fixes done, but please don’t make any changes unless I suggest them here. Your log does show some infection, so let’s get started.

Download and install the trial version of Spy Sweeper from Here. Go online and update it. Don’t run it just yet.


Boot into Safe Mode (restart your PC and tap F8 as it restarts).

Next, click on Start, then Run ... type services.msc into the box that opens up, and press 'OK'.

On the page that opens, scroll down to Command Service or cmdService ... right click the entry, select 'Properties' and press 'Stop Service'. When it shows that it is stopped, next please set the 'Start-up Type' to 'Disabled'. Press 'OK' until you get back to Windows.

Next, run HJT, but instead of scanning, click on the "None of the above, just start the program" button at the bottom of the choices. At the lower right, click on the 'Config" button, and then the Misc tools' button ... select 'Delete an NT Service" ... copy/paste the following into the box that opens, and press "OK":

Now run Spy Sweeper, and save the log it creates.

Then reboot, run another HJT, and post the logs from both of them back here.

Darn. Still some fixing to do.

Looks like you have the latest version of VX2. Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

http://www.downloads.subratam.org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Next, go Here and download Silent Runners to your desktop. Run it, and post back here the log it creates also.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new HijackThis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!
