Virus? Opening anything IE related opens .EXE?

Hey, just recently I noticed anything with .html or web related shows the icon of a .exe file, and also tries to open up as a .exe. I have to actually goto open with and choose IE, even if I click Use this program for all these types, still doesn't work.
Could this be a virus? I have a2gaurd up to date, and I can't seem to figure this out.

Thanks,
Justin

It's certainly possible, or it could be related to spyware. Try looking at any HTML file you have in Windows Explorer and check in Tools > Folder options > File Types what .HTM and .HTML files are associated with.
