External Hard Drive Enclosure (Outlook Transfer)

My pc motherboard and processor died, I have purchased a new computer along with a Hard Drive Enclosure to obtain files off my old hard drive. What I am trying to do is to obtain my prior emails out of outlook off the hard drive. I know how to export the files out of outlook as a .pst file. The problem I am running into is whenever I try to go to the external harddrive for Outlook it pops up my Outlook on my main hard drive and its messages. Is there a way to over-ride or disable the main computer's outlook to obtain these messages.
