Video clips play as audios
Hey guys, everytime i download a video and try and play it It seems to only play the audio and i get the visual effects. is this a setting on my media player or something else. please help.

What video player are you using?

Have you tried updating it?
Have you tested with a different player such as Media Player Classic?

I ve tried it in both windows media player and windvd. In both players it plays as an audio file. when you click on properties for the video file it say its a video file but in the media player it says its an audio file.

What file type is the video? If it's a MPEG-4 (.mp4), then I've known WinAmp (no idea about WMP) to play it as just audio.

Either download video codecs for WMP or go here to download VLC Media Player - preloaded with almost every codec you could want.
