Exclamation everything opens with notepad

most programs on my computer open with notepad and i don't know how to get everything back to normal! i can't run anything except internet explorer and the control panel. someone please help me!!!!! i need this computer for school!!!!

everything opens with notepad

with the exception of internet explorer and the control panel, all programs on my computer open with notepad. can somebody please help me!!!!!

Have you tried this:

Go to folder option in my computer under tools. Go to file types and try changing the extensions with the respective programs. If you cant do it from here then hit F8 at boot and enter safe mode and see if it works
