Some (older) burners can't write to DVD+R, or DVD+R is sometimes not suitable/compatible with the particular burning job you're trying to do. Some burning tasks also can't be done with Re-Writable media (DVD+/-RW).
If any of that applies to you, try using DVD-R discs instead. It's also true that some dvd-burners don't like certain brands of disc, so try a different brand (preferrably a quality brand).
