Windows Defender

So i bought windows vista ultimate and it comes with windows defender. I wanted to put spybot S&d on instead and it installed fine, but i can't figure out where to uninstall windows defender, it's useless. it won't update and i don't use it. Anyone know how to get rid of this?

In Windows Defender go to Tools>Options and uncheck "Automatically scan my computer," click Save.

Then in Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services. Scroll down to and double click Windows Defender. In the window that opens, click the Stop button to stop the service without having to reboot. Select Disabled in the "Startup type" drop-down list, click OK.
