I 'm not sure if this is where I should post, but I'm guessing its either malicious or just old.
On my mothers computer the desktop only shows up.. No icons no start bar at the bottom. I right click to get to properties to change the background but it wont let me get in there it says Runtime Libraries cancelled the request. and it says the same thing when i hit control alt delete to bring up the task manager. she has xp cable and as slow as a turtle.. I think its a old tower it looks pretty old. its a dell too. I think it might been a win 98 before and got upgraded to xp. any help would be great to get her icons back and running. Thanks! ![]() |

Hi,
Please download HijackThis. Run it and let it scan your computer and save a logfile. Post the logfile back into this thread. Thanks. |
