windows taking unusually long to boot up
when my computer is booting up, right before the screen that says "windows is starting up/loading personal settings", i hear a beep from my computer's internal speaker and then it takes extra long during the "windows is starting up/loading personal settings" screen-this didn't happen until after i installed sp2

my computer specs are as follows:
emachines T4160 XP pro sp2 penium 4 1.6ghtz 256mb pc 133 sd ram 80gb 7200 hdd 32mb nvidia tnt2 |

You could try Safe Boot, or selective boot (F8), and see if there is an improvement. Check the startup programs and make sure there aren't unknowns running. Do you run anti-spyware, anti-virus, and firewall? If not, you might have unwelcome varmints starting with you. If you're cool on that front, you should create another account, and see if that takes a long time as well. If it doesn't you might have a bloated profile.
