Monitor problems when playing games or watching videos

Hey

When I play a game on my computer (Like counter-strike) or watch a video, my monitor begins to act all crazy. I can see lines, then my screen starts blinking, sometimes my computer even restarts, this started happening 2 days ago and I have no clue what's wrong. I came back from school one day and it started doing this. It might be my video card, it's a gefore 5200fx I have the lastest drivers, I even double checked, I even reinstalled the video card. My refresh rate is at 85hz. I have no clue what triggered this problem. This only happens with I watch videos or play games, so It might be the video card...

Can anyone help?

Sounds to me like your video card is overheating. If it has a fan on it, make sure its still spinning. In any case, open up your case, take a regular house fan and blow it directly onto the video card while playing a game or watching a video. Check if it happens.
