Slow Bittorrent download.

Hi,

I usually download at around 40-50 kbs and max at around 90 but on bittorrent it downloads at 5-12 kbs.... Usually on 7... I now installed Azureus And with that I'm at 10-15... Can anyone tell me WHY is this so slow? I even turned off my firewall and it's still slow... Max upload at 10 and it's still slow....

Oh, btw, I'm on a router..

First off welcome to CTH. If I remember right Bittorrent speeds are based on how many people are offering the file and how much of the file your computer is sending out. If you are on a router it may be that nobody can get the file from you and thus it limits your speed. When you download something does it show any part of the file going out?

Well, doesn't show at the lower part which I think is for uploads, but it does say upload speed at around 6-8...

Oh and my speed did jump to around 35-45 for like 3 min then went back in (Could be for more time but I saw something like that for only 3 min).

The speeds offered on most peer to peer services are slower than that on a "proper" server because it's usually on the end of a DSL or similar connection rather than an industrial strength connection to the internet.
