Internet Connection Sharing Error

Hey All!

I have just bought a new computer and have set both the old system and new system up on a cross over cable network... both run XP Pro
Now heres the problem: I go to select internet sharing under the connection properties and it comes up with "Error 2: File is not Available"
This has happened numerous times, even after running the network connection wizard (even though i despise it) through the Win XP CD...still didnt work!! errors keep appearing...
What should i do?? A modem transplant to the new computer?? or attempt to rectify the problem?? your help would be appreciated muchly!
