win2k shutdown issue

hi all,

At the School that I'm at, we have a "hot swap". Basicly where we sell items during our TV broadcast to raise money to get new equipment. Anyhow, we had computer come in and we have redid the entire thing. We reinstalled win2k and all of it's drivers. I belive that it has an old at psu in it, because when you press the power button it kills everything. Well, when you told windows to shut down. It would simply run it final tasks and display a screen saying it is now safe to shut down your computer. Well someone got inside the computer thinking that they can change how it shuts down to the point that you do not have to press the power button. Now when you tell windows to shut down, it restarts. Is there anyway to fix this so that it goes back to the screen saying that it is now safe to shut down your computer? It is a custom build computer, AMDK5, and a ASUS P5A mobo.

What exactly did they do?

I believe you should be looking into ACPI / Advanced Power Managerment.

Note! You have to enable it in the BIOS first, then in the Operating System.

I looked in the BIOS and there are only options for energy saving fetures. I looked everywhere. And exactly what they did, I have no clue.
