Recent Items is insane
Windows 10 PC. I installed something I can't remember the name of to make the interface look and function like Win 7.
The Recent Items list isn't chronological. It is a jumble of stuff at random. How can I force it to be chronological ? |

At the top of the Recent Items list you should see the word "Date Modified."
Click on it and that should arrange things by, as it says, the last date it was modified. If you want other options, such as "Date Created," click on "View," and in the menu that appears, click on "Group By" and choose the one or ones you want. |

Did you find "View" at the top of the Recent Items window? If it's not there, use the Alt/V key combination to open it. That will give you a bunch of options including "Group By" and "Add Columns." Either one will show you more options about how to arrange the files and which columns you want displayed

No, there is nothing but a list of items. "View" is not there. Pressing ALT/V does nothing. |

I'm out of ideas. Hopefully, someone else has the solution
