Windows 10 logging

hello all,

I am having issue with logging into Windows 10 (Home Edition) with an error stating I have been logged on with Temporary Profile. I have no idea what caused this or how to fix it and would really appreciate some assistance with fixing it.

hello,

thank you for your reply. that suggestion is the right one, I am just too scared to play with Registry editing and cause even more damage. Is there any sort of Registry tool that would take care of this error and fix it?

I don't know of any registry editing utilities for win10. just follow the instructions and you should have no problems. fortunately there are pictures :-)

thanks for reply, it is easier said than done in my case, I am totally in war with computers and last thing I would ever play with it is Windows Registry. I think trip to PC Tech is on order lol

I think you should try it - at least part way before deciding if you feel comfortable completing the task.

Here's another tutorial from another respected tutorial maker. I post it just to instill some confidence two tutorials are showing the same steps.

I think you should follow one of the tutorials just to see if there is a .bak entry. If no entry, just click the X in the upper right corner of the Registry Editor and the editor will exit with no changes made. If you see the .bak entry, then you know for a fact that is your problem and you can then follow the tutorial of your choice.

Yes, dinking around inside the Registry is dangerous and should not be done haphazardly. But you aren't. You are following a well crafted set of instructions.
