Issues Playing Voices on Videos via Speakers

I just noticed this tonight. A laptop's drive was replaced Monday so I had to redo stuff. Now I use VLC (fresh install) and been playing Star Trek episodes fine. When I went to play some other movies like Up and Wreck It Ralph, I hear only effects sounds but dialog seems very silent in the background. Playing Enterprise was fine though. I even tried on Windows Media Player (ew) and same thing as with VLC. I do not hear all sounds correctly. I put in my headphones and all sounds normal. Now these videos play just fine on another laptop.
I tested the laptop's speakers and left and right sound fine. Again, my Enterprise episodes (at least the 10 I played) played fine. Just some other random movies will not.
This is Windows 10 with Waves Maxx Audio running (only output it shows is internal speakers). I have tried playing with settings but can not figure it out.
Any thoughts?
Thank you.

I had this same problem in Linux. It's your sound settings. In control panel, open the Sound settings dialog. If you have the wrong audio mode for your actual sound setup, VLC is trying to use speakers that don't exist. See what is offered and test speakers in different modes if you aren't sure what you have.

Wow. I still can't believe I joined this forum 16 years ago and only recently ran across it in my password keeper ROFL

I thought I replied to this one weeks ago. It has been solved.

Uninstalling this junk was tricky.
Disabling it from startup did not help.
This, so far, did:

Device Manager
Sound, video and game controllers
Realtek Audio
Right-click, update driver.
"Browse my computer for driver software"
"Let me pick from a list..."
Install "High Definition Audio Device"

Change that driver from Realtek worked for me, for the moment.

realtek driver system causes many problems some time and specially its drivers. You should always check the Realtek system whenever the mic or audio device cause issues. Also, this can be a reason of the corrupt version of vlc. So try to reinstall it and also reset the settings. Also, check your video files they can also be the cause of the problem.
