Trackpad goes super slow, and laptop does now as well

Okay, for some reason my trackpad was going really slow recently. I use a USB mouse as well and there is no lag whatsoever. I re-installed the driver for the trackpad twice and it seemed to fix the problem, but after a while the problem occurs again.

Now, it seems my PC is super slow. I can't get my work done or anything as every couple minutes the PC slows down like crazy. I thought at first it was Google Chrome, but it's doing it with Firefox a bit as well. Windows can't seem to find any problems and I have no idea what to do right now. I had mcafee virus protection, but uninstalled it recently as it was nearly due and I switched to Windows Defender.

I'm doing a full scan right now. I have no idea what's going on, it just started acting like this for the past 3-5 days now and I use this Laptop for work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have Windows 8.1 by the way.

Does it do it no matter what your doing? That is besides surfing the net?

Well I did a hard reboot and it seems to be working fine. But when looking at task manager, my disk % is at 100%, and I don't know if that's causing the problem. I'm doing a disk cleaup to see if that helps. After the hard reboot it seems to be working fine, but I don't know for how long.

So far it's doing good though, but I take it the Disk side of things isn't supposed to be at 100%.
