Cannot defrag and optimize computer

When I go to the site to defrag and optimize your drive and I click on optimize this is what I get:
Do you want to restore default optimization settings? Storage optimization is currently using customized settings created by another program. Before you can modify the schedule you must remove customized settings.
I get 2 boxes to click on: box 1 says remove customized settings and box 2 says keep customized settings. When I click either one nothings happens at all. So I am unable to drag or optimize computer. I am using Windows 8
any suggestions?

Are you using a WEB Site? Or the Windows 8 defrag?
  • Open the Search Charm,
  • Enter Defragment
  • And then tap or click Defragment and optimize your drives.
  • Pick the type of drive you want to optimize under Media type in the Optimize Drives dialog, and then tap or click Optimize.
Follow the on-screen instructions

or
  • Press the Windows Key to go to the Start Screen
  • Open up the Charms Bar
  • Click Search
  • Click Settings
  • Type Optimize in the box
  • Click Defragment and Optimize Drives
Is this what your doing?

Yes, and when I get to optimize I get the two options to click on first and neither one will let me get to the optimize option.

you do not have an ssd drive unless you put one in yourself. since you do not know what one is, we can assume you did not :-)

see the following on defraging your drive. maybe it will clarify things a bit better.

what site are you talking about???? the instructions I gave does not take you to any sites. are you following them? or something else. you need to be clearer on what you are doing.

if you are following the instructions, and it wont defrag, then most likely it does not need one.

When I do as the instructions says I get the following box: Storage optimization is currently using customized settings created by another program. Before you can modify the schedule you must remove customized settings.
I get 2 boxes to click on: box 1 says remove customized settings and box 2 says keep customized settings. When I click either one nothings happens at all. So I am not able to do what the instructions from the site you sent to me. I hope this makes since.
