Click on MP3 link, file opens in same browser window w/MediaPlayer,but file doesnt DL

Hi, I've been having this problem for a while but can't fix it... whenever I click on a link to an MP3 file in IE5, Windows Media Player opens in the window but the file doesn't download. There's an error "Invalid Syntax" with details "Invalid syntax (Error=800401E4)". Before I formatted, the Open or Save As.. window would come up as usual. How can I make it return to that? Thanks

Hi wh00t,

Don't click on it with the left-mouse button...
click on it with the right-mouse button and
select Save Target As...

Hi Spider, that works but sometimes I want to listen without saving, that's when the "Open" option came in handy. I can't find any settings anywhere to change the automatic opening of Media Player. :/

One of these two links (probably the first one) should get your download option box to appear again for the files in question:

Hmm, that place said to click "Confirm open after download", but it was already clicked. So I unclicked it, and now no matter if it's clicked or unclicked, mp3 files now automatically open in the browser window with Quicktime! It's one step forward, because files are at least downloading now, but I'd still rather have the download option box. Thanks

I should mention that mp3 files are associated with Winamp.
