Beep code error. Please help me!
Hello, I installed new RAM in my computer about 5-6 months ago. About a week ago, I started receiving a 1-3-1-1 beep code. I have read that it means a DRAM refresh error during POST. I've also read somewhere to run some system diagnostics but how I am supposed to do that if I have no display? I tried reseating the RAM about 10 times now, took one out, etc.
I really need some help... Brandon |

This needs to be in the hardware forum, and you need to post complete system specs.
That means make and model of all the major compents (motherberboard, video, ram, etc) if it's a custom rig. If it's store bought, make and model will be fine (just add the type of ram you installed). Which bios make (AMI, Phoenix, Award, Compaq, etc) and version if you know it. Quote:
Best way to test, is to put the ram into another system and try to power up, if the system powers up, it's the motherboard, if not one or both sticks of ram are bad. |
