Files / folders from Vista-64 bit install
Hello,
I just installed Vista-64 bit, and I have a few questions on files in my system c drive. Reference the attached thumbnail below. 1. Why is there two folders, "Program Files" and "Program Files (x86)"? I suppose I could've overridden during install and put everything in "Program Files"? 2. What is BOOTSECT.BAK? Can I delete it? From my google search, looks OK to delete, but I couldn't find its purpose so I'd like to review before I delete. 3. What is _AcroTemp and can I delete it? Inside is a 1KB file called "PATCH.ERR". It is related to Acrobat, but online references to this folder are vague. Thx. Scott |

Keep the two program files folders. One is for 32bit installs and the other is for 64 bit installs. IMO, It is best to keep them both.
as far as those other files, if you are unsure, just move them to another location for a few days to see if there are any problems. However, you can delete them if you want. |
