BSOD and SMART Disk Failure Warning
A few days ago, my WinXP Pro Dell Insp. notebook started BSOD-ing after windows booted and the desktop was showing. It was STOP error 0x0000019 BAD_POOL_HEADER. Yesterday, after I ran a memory test and CHKDSK (w/o any errors), I recieved the SMART disk failure warning when i tried to boot.

Is the BSOD coming from the HDD problem...
or is the BSOD and SMART warning, somehow, coming from a software issue???

If it is a software problem... how can i fix it???

I would say that there is a good chance that the BSOD is coming from the HDD problem, as bad sectors on the HDD (as well as other causes) can result in that particular BSOD.

Check the HDD manufacturer's website for a downloadable diagnostic tool that can be run from floppy or CD, and start thinking about replacing the HDD.
