how can I use different styles on XP without using apps like windowblinds??

Question:: How can I use different themes on Windows XP without using programs such as Windowblinds/StyleXP/etc??

Details:: I was using windowblinds, and I found an awesome theme to use.. I've been using it since, but I had to take it off today.. 'cause I tried disabling windowblinds to see if my system would run any faster, and it runs a lot better now. So I decided to leave it off.

But! I got the Windows XP default theme in gray (there's blue, green, and gray.. I chose gray). But yeah, other than those three and the Windows Classic, I don't know of any other ones I can use.

In the Display Properties, it says "Click for more themes", but when I click it, the page on microsoft.com isn't there anymore. I even found another page on microsoft tell the actual page it was supposed to go to.. but it's not there.

But yeah, does anyone know?

Forget that - There is a DLL Injection patch to patch the theme dll. and after that you could use themes without installing any 3th party application.

Holy crap.. Redapple, if this works, I'm gonna LOVE you!! lol

Seriously.. I just got used to the silver theme and the background I'm now using, but if I'm able to use the theme I 'was' using without running windowblinds, that'll be AWESOME!

Thanks. ^_^

I did as mentioned and tried for some new themes.....appears to be adware problems. Wondering if others have encountered same.

If you want to run WindowBlinds skins, you will need WindowBlinds. It has many benefits over hack your theme .dll, and it typically uses less than 1mb of RAM.

Check out the WindowBlinds 6 preview.
