Notepad
I'll try to be brief. After clicking "My Computer", "Local Disk" and then the "Windows" folder, should I ever delete any of the notepads that appear. For example: KB905916 NOTEPAD? I was wondering because there are quite a lot of notepads.
I have WIndows XP if that's any help. Thanking you in advance, Lantern |

You need to define what you mean .
Quote:
Notepad.exe is a windows program. What you may be seeing are text documents If this is so then you can delete them. |

They are probably the .log files Windows creates for every update installed.
If you go to Tools>Folder Options>View tab and check "Show extensions for known file types," (click OK), close and reopen My computer>Local Disk>Windows, they'll probably show you they have a .log extension. On my XP system, there are 113 of them with a total size of 1.4 megs. I doubt deleting them will hurt anything but since they don't take up much room, it won't hurt a thing to leave them there, either. |

CCleaner (crap cleaner) gets rid of all that kind of useless junk for you and does a good job cleaning up any temp files and IE temp files also.
Free to download: Crap cleaner |
