I have tried all of the normal procedures for the average novice computer user.....such as clear out temp files, and cookies but I am very quickly approaching a completely stuffed hard drive ......I cannot clear out this bloat.......is there anything else I can do or are there any tricks to clear out much needed space........I have 4.57 GB space in my Dell 4000 inspiron laptop and I am at 4.30 used....I would love to atleast cut that in half......I would be so grateful if anyone could help with this and explain it in somewhat laymans terms....LOL, I have decent computer knowledge but it is limited......
Thanks to any who can help- ![]() |

Hi bkraz1, Welcome to Cyber Tech!
![]() Have you run an updated virus scan? There are various virii out there that fill up a hard drive with junk files. If you haven't you can run one at either of the following two: http://housecall.antivirus.com/ http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/ Also, Can you post your startups please? Click Start > Run type msinfo32 and click OK. Click 'Software Enviroment' then 'Startup Programs'. Click edit, select all, edit, copy, then paste it in a reply. |
