Question Caps Lock key problem

My computer OS is Win XP Home. About 3 weeks ago, it suddenly started opening my Start menu when I hit the Caps Lock key. Any idea as to what might cause this and how I can fix it?

Thank you,
Peg

go into control panel and rummage around with your keyboard settings.
Do you have a start key (looks like a windows flag) if so what dose that do.

And you should have said what keyboard you have, the more info the better

Caps Lock key problem

Sorry, I should have known that. The keyboard is a
Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard. It is about 5 years old. The windows key also opens the Start menu.

Have a quick look in Control Panel/Regional and Langauge Options and ensure these have not been altered.

Well a microsoft keyboard will definately use the keybord part of the control panel rather than some fancy manufacturers settings, so a quick look in the keyboard settings... rules it out

You could try uninstaling its drivers and reinstaling (note remove your passwords first, otherwise you may be unable to enter them) but apart from that I'm out of ideas.
