New page opens with just title bar

I have never had this problem before and I'm thinking it's just in the settings somewhere but I recently upgraded to SP2 and once I did whenever I have my browser open IE 6 and click a link to open a new page, only the title bar comes up and I have to click on the maximize button to open the full page.

I find it pretty annoying and would appreciate any help anyone can give me!

thanks in advance!

Christy

Open only one Internet Explorer
size it to where you want
hold the shift key down and press the X gadget (upper right corner)

Your new browser windows should now open to that size.

I thought I replied to this but I don't see it...that didn't work. I did it and all it did was minimize the page to the task bar.

take care-
Christy

XP has a "scroll up" feature...when you click the scroll-up button, the window disappears into the title bar, which remains visible. The button that scrolls up is the left-most button where the X button is located.

Internet Explorer opens all secondary windows (a secondary window is when you click on a link that opens in a new window) to the size and placement of the last secondary window closed. At some point, you must have close a scrolled up secondary window last so that's what IE remembers. I know it'll do that because it did it to me once and it took me a coupla' days to figure it out.

To fix it:
1. Open IE and go to a page with links
2. Right click on a link and tell it to open in a new window, click the Scroll Up button to un-scroll the window
3. Click on the Maximize button (just to the left of the X)
4. Close the original window first - important step
5. Close the secondary window last

If future secondary windows open half size (they probably will), don't use the Maximize button to enlarge it. Stretch it with the mouse to the size and position you want. Then make sure that re-sized IE Window is the last IE window you close. All future secondary windows should then open to the size and placement of that one.
