Please advise how to stop pop ups ads in windows 11

There are various different types of popups that can be annoying, let's find out which it is you wish to stop.
First do these occur in your browser? If so which browser are you using?
Next are they just on your desktop when not browsing, perhaps advice from microsoft?
Do you have any ad blockers installed?
If necessary would you be happy to install a different browser?

Its strange when someone posts about something thay dont like and they put a thumbs up.. (Ah man!!)

Jerry are you only getting popups when your browser is open buddy??

I don't know what is "Buddy" but I am getting pop up offering stuff that I don't need ( I don't open then fearing that it may be virus) but I did virus scan and no virus was found.
It pop up on the browser which is Firefox , I don't have any ads blocker.

I use Firefox also and have installed Ghostery – Privacy Ad Blocker, which stops popups for me, it is made for FireFox is free and is available at https://www.ghostery.com/

I'm happy with it.

I use Ad-block ultimate. Firefox extensions search then install. I am happy with it. the only drawback is that some sights insist that users disable it to view their content I usually go some place else for my information..
