Verify the item's location and try again

I've got an FLV file that I tried to delete some time ago, but for some reason, it wouldn't. The file was not in use, nor were there any copies of it.

I tried using a tutorial I found on this website for somebody with a similar problem, using a program called Avenger. Seems simple enough, but I'm having trouble writing a script that it will recognize. It's just one file, called

BEST. DAY. EVER.

I'd really like to get this non-file off my desktop using Avenger...help?

Hi NightAtTheOpera. What is the full filepath of the file and does the name of the file include spaces as you have indicated?

C:\Users\Christina\Desktop\BEST. DAY. EVER.

And it does include the spaces, but no ".flv" at the end. In fact, it's not even registering as any type of file.

Have you tried rightclicking on the file and renaming it to bestdayever.flv and then trying to delete it?

It won't let me change the file name; always telling me that the file no longer exists.

Ok, Windows obviously cant see it.

Try this. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click on Start and type cmd in the "Start Search" box. Cmd.exe will appear at the top of the Menu. Rightclick on it and choose "Run as Administrator". Copy and paste the following commands in the Code box after the prompt > and hit Enter after each line:

Code:
cd C:\Users\Christina\Desktop
del best.*
Close the command prompt. Has it gone? If not, post any error messages in full.
