Administrator privilages ?

My account shows as administrator account but there have been times that the pc does not let me do certain things because it says I need to be an administrator in order to do them.

Is there a way to fix that?

I've tried search but I can't find the results.

Thanks in advance

...which are?
Some malwares can cause such behavior.

That's quite normal if you have UAC enabled. You can read more about UAC here (What's User Account Control in Windows Vista?)

With UAC enabled, the Administrator account doesnt exist in the form that was present in Windows versions prior to Vista. Now all users have standard user accounts which denote the level of access they have and are logged in as standard users by default. This means that Admins are logged in with administrative privileges disabled. To gain access to Administrative options, the user must provide the necessary credentials via Admin Approval Mode. See User Account Control here.
