LightScribe DVD SuperMulti Drive/CD-Writer malfunctioning (moved from Vista)

I have an HP Pavilion desktop with Windows Vista and my dvd/cd drive keeps running, the light is flashing, can hear the inner workings doing something inside, and then it pops open for barely a fraction, and goes back in, and repeats.

No clue what is wrong, device manager says it is fine.. just updated the driver as well.

Hi jaredbaxter welcome to Cyber Tech Help.

Control Panel
System
on the left side - Device Manager
click the plus sign beside - DVD/CD-ROM drives
right-click the DVD driver showing - Uninstall
reboot

No, Windows does that for you automatically.

Well I don't know why you'd even mention that, now I have to ask why were you kicked off and what was your nickname?
