Can't watch videos while minimized in WoW
Sometimes I get bored waiting for stuff in that game, and i usually minimize and watch videos or something, or dvd's on my comp.
Now it wont work, stays a black screen, and i just hear sound. Only works when I'm not ingame. It only happened when I got this new comp... My video card is: Geforce gtx 7900 OC 512mb ddr |

What are using to watch the video's? If WMP, did you download any codecs for the new computer? WMP won't play videos without these.

This only happens in Warcraft. |

How much system memory do you have? It could be WoW is taking up more memory than your other programs causing your player to not have enough to play videos.

yeah that should be enough. Question is, can you play video's if you don't have WoW booted? This still sounds like something to do with Wow running is conflicting with the video play.

Yes, videos run fine when I'm not playing WoW. Only happens when I'm ingame and minimize, or if i open wow when I'm watching the video, then it just freezes.

Then the only advice I have for you is, WoW is taking more resource/memory and it's causing the freezing when playing a video which also uses a lot of resources and memory. WoW is pretty graphic intense, isn't it? Even though it's minimized, it's still running in the background.

It has little to do with system resources. WoW uses DirectX to render its video. It does so even when minimized. Most media players, while using hardware video rendering/acceleration, will also try to use DirectX to display the video. They can't, because WoW is using it. Hence the problem. This is also the reason why you can't play games on one monitor and movies on another in a multi-monitor setup.
If you want to try, you can disable hardware rendering in most media players, but how you do it depends on the media player. |

I've got the same problem. The only thing is that I used to be able to watch a video while WoW was running(probably around a year ago). After I got my new computer and installed WoW last month I haven't been able to do it.

Maybe you were using a different type of rendering, Like Direct3D or Software renderer, which didnt use directx
