Problem with laptop battery and pc freezing on startup.

Hi there,

It's been ages since I've needed to post here, so forgive me if I have forgotten any crucial steps involved with a post.

I have an ASUS G73JH running Windows 10 Enterprise x64.

3 years ago I bought a new battery for it from Dr. Battery (from Amazon.ca), and everything has been fine, the battery still holds a good charge when unplugged.

Since upgrading from Win 7, to Win 10 however, I occasionally experience an issue where the machine will freeze during boot, or shortly after boot. When this happens, the battery light will be flashing yellow and green. Normally, it is always green when fully charged, or yellow when charging.

The windows event log, and the BSOD will sometimes come up with a MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION

The only temporary solution I have when this happens is to unplug the power supply, and remove the battery, then reinsert and reboot.

The frequency of the issue is sporadic at best.

If there is some kind of test I can run, or log I can submit to help you guys diagnose the issue, I'd be happy to do so.

I am trying to avoid another costly battery..

Thank you,
DM
