Notepad

I'll try to be brief. After clicking "My Computer", "Local Disk" and then the "Windows" folder, should I ever delete any of the notepads that appear. For example: KB905916 NOTEPAD? I was wondering because there are quite a lot of notepads.
I have WIndows XP if that's any help.

Thanking you in advance,
Lantern

You need to define what you mean .

That makes no sense to me.
Notepad.exe is a windows program.
What you may be seeing are text documents

If this is so then you can delete them.

They are probably the .log files Windows creates for every update installed.

If you go to Tools>Folder Options>View tab and check "Show extensions for known file types," (click OK), close and reopen My computer>Local Disk>Windows, they'll probably show you they have a .log extension.

On my XP system, there are 113 of them with a total size of 1.4 megs. I doubt deleting them will hurt anything but since they don't take up much room, it won't hurt a thing to leave them there, either.

CCleaner (crap cleaner) gets rid of all that kind of useless junk for you and does a good job cleaning up any temp files and IE temp files also.

Free to download:
