Slow Download Speeds
I just upgraded my Windows Vista to Windows 7 Home Premium and everything works fine but I have one small (okay, HUGE) problem. My download speeds have dropped dramatically since I did the upgrade. I used to download at about 200 kbs and now it's down too 40 - 50 kbs. That's not using a torrent, a direct download.
If I boot to my second drive that has XP Pro on it, my download speeds from the exact same place and file, are back up to around 200 kbs. Boot back into Windows 7 and it's back to 50 kbs. I have a Realtek RTL8168B/8111B Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet and it has driver Rt86Win7.sys - file version 7.002.1125.2008 which is suppose to be the latest driver. I even tried rolling back the driver but it made no changes. Can anyone suggest how I can correct this? Should I get a Vista driver and try that? Thanks for any help!! |
