speeding up laptop

I have a Celeron 900Mhz laptop. My desktop is a Pentium 3 650Mhz that boots up and performs about 10 times faster. What is the one thing that will speed up my laptop? I'm thinking about a 8 Mb cache / 7200 rpm hard drive........

A new hard drive won't do a thing for boot times, and a 5400rpm drive is considered peppy for a laptop. What make/model, and what's the operating system? What's the hardware config for the laptop?

It's a Toshiba Satellite 1805-S154 operating on WinXP, 900 Mhz Celeron, 128 RAM, and a 20 gig hard drive.....probably 133mhz bus

I could be wrong but its more likely to have a 100mhz fsb multiplyer 9x as if it were a 133mhz fsb it would need a multiplyer of 6.7x and to my knowledge there is no such thing. But hey Ive only been reading up on it to fix one of my 4 Celerons as I dont get any answers on my own thread stay cool

A year-and-a-half for a reply? I think the issue's sort of dead, craisin.
