Sorting

I have currenly started using windows vista and hence am new to it. I would like some help on sorting. My issue is that the default sorting system is descending on every folder. i have to manually change it to ascending in each folder. is there a way by which i can change it and apply it to all folders? please help me out....

thank you!!

I have just received a new laptop w/ VISTA and am exploring its many features - have not done much w/ folders yet except to click on 'show extensions' & 'show hidden files' - I would suggest going to the Control Panel, set to 'classic view' and open the 'Folders' applet; a dialog box w/ tabbed choices will appear (like in other Windows OSs) - first, the folders can be set to their 'classic' appearance (I've not tried that choice yet but may provide you old sorting options for you); otherwise explore the other tabs & options - if you find a solution, please report back; I'm sure others (e.g. me) would like to know - good luck!

Open a folder and arrange it the way you want. Then go up to Tools>Folder Options>View tab and click the "Apply to Folders" button. That will arrange all folders the same way as the one you just fixed.
