I have two drives that open in a new window when double-clicked: one is a hard drive and the other is a flash drive. When I right-click on the hard drive (drive D), instead of having the first option as Open like in my normal and problem-free drive C, it has Auto as its first option. I think this causes the drive to open in a new window with the folders list open even though I have made sure the folder options are set to my preferences. I tried regsvr32 /i shell32.dll, didn't work. I tried setting the directory's, drive's, and folder's value to "none" in the default registry and didn't work as well. It's annoying because as if I haven't any more problems on the computer. I've accidentally wiped clean my music folder and now I have to redownload my songs all over again.
![]() How do I fix this and make my drive D and flash drive open in the same window like Drive C? |
