Help with Backing up PS3/PS4 to external Hard drive
Hey all,
I recently had my PS3 come down with the red light of death So I would like to use a portable hard drive to back up my content on my PS4 and other PS3 in the event this happens again, so I won't lose everything......also, to use less space on my systems. I am not even sure if it's possible, but surely hope so. Thanks in advance for any and all help, Dave |

Anyone? There are a few portable/external hard drives on sale at the moment so I'd like to get one before the sale ends.... if they will do what I'm wanting.
Thanks, Dave |

I am not a gamer. But any external drive will work. The key is the external must be formatted FAT32, you can use a computer to do this. Depending on what version of Windows you have. Also from what I read a PS3/PS4 didn't support using files greater than 4GB because FAT32 is limited to files up to 4GB.
Also from what I have read you cannot save PS3/PS4 games to the external drive. http://gadgets.ndtv.com/games/featur...console-646264 However you can use the external to store movies, TV shows, videos.. If you get a larger external drive you would need software to format it FAT 32. One free one I know about is: http://macrorit.com/partition-magic-...e-edition.html |
