Put security restrictions on a partition, now I cannot access it
I put security restrictions on a separate partition to prevent other accounts from accessing it, however, doing so ultimately prevented me from accessing the drive. I have no way of undoing the restrictions I put on it.
Vista is telling me that I do not have permissions to change the drive, even though my account is an administrative account. I've tried changing it in Safe Mode, but unlike XP, there is no Administrator account, and it just logs in as mine, and doesn't let me change the permissions. Any help to regain access to this partition would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Matt N **** EDIT **** I somehow allowed myself back permissions by right clicking the drive -> properties -> advanced -> owner -> Edit -> checked Replace Owner Now I have my permissions back Last edited by guitarist809; April 27th, 2008 at 09:29 PM. |
