Counter Strike 1.6 or Counter Strike Source?

Hi everyone,

i don't know what I should put my money towards. Should i get CS 1.6 for just $20, or CS Source for $60. Most of my friends have 1.6 and I know that it will work for everyone since the game i already like 7 years old. Counter Strike Source is newer, and people on Xfire keep telling me to get CS Source on this question, but my friend who also has it said "Counter Strike Source isn't good, everyone who has it knows it", but I think he says that because he got permantly banned. I'm not really sure, should I go with what my friends have, or should I go with what the future is, because CSS has more servers and seems to be growing in popularity, plus it will look better on new computers. Well, anyone?

Unless you really need to keep tabs on that money, spend it where your friends have the most allegiance (probably CS1.6).
If you don't have any particular social preference to either, and have a computer that can handle CS:S with ease, go with it.

to be honest you can get css and 1.6 a lot cheaper than that
