Whats the biggest hard drive will a G4 Emac will see?
I am swapping a Quicksilver G4 for an Emac G4 800 mhz.
I already have an Emac G4 it runs Ubuntu The new Emac I hope to install Tiger on a 160 gig Western Digital IDE hard drive |

G4s can only read the first 128GB of any hard drive. To use a larger drive you have to install a PCI ATA controller, which you can't do with an eMac. If you install a larger than 128GB drive, only the first 128GB will be seen.

Yes they sold me a 1ghz cpu machine that was a 800mhz with mismatched ram.
So they swapped it for the 1.25 ghz machine no extra cost. I believe a 160 gig HDD was optional from new so I am going to format the 160 gig drive in a USB enclosure and clone the OS But first I have to learn how to use this Mac |

So i installed a 160gb WD HDD in the $30 1,25 emac and now we have the black screen of death.
So I bought a 1,42gb emac off a mate $10 a week for 3 weeks it goes but the beachball is present a lot |
