Gmail and Google Maps Slow?

Anyone having a problem with Gmail or Google Maps? They went very slow for me a few hours ago, in fact maps just doesn't finish loading and I can only get into gmail by use of the 'basic HTML' option. Every other site including google searching is working fine.

I'm using a Firefox browser ver 2.0.0.18 and just before this slow down there was an update installed. Before that all was OK.

Ideas?

I've had a few speed issues with gmail over the last few days Ned, but it's been alright for the past 8 hours or so.

Also, google maps have been failing to load the full image for about two weeks now for me - all other sites appear to be fine.

reckon they are trying to get us to use Chrome?

Thanks.

The problem is Firefox this time, away from home at the moment and this has happened to my sisters computer, I follow up on it and send her the fix when I've worked out what went wrong. All help greatfully accepted.

OK I've found it. The problem was a bad security update. I used system restore to go back to the day before the update was installed then installed it again and now Firefox is working OK. Strange that it only affected those two Google sites.

Security update from version 2.0.0.17 to version 2.0.0.18 for Firefox. Exactly what the update was to correct I've not investigated. Will do that once I get home.
