access to XP machine from W2K machine
I'm trying to access a computer running XP prof. FROM a computer running W2K
in a workgroup/mshome , but I get this message : \\*computer* is not accessible Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer. ...guess I need to know how to grant the requested logon type ![]() Last edited by |=0$h!ZzL3; March 27th, 2004 at 08:47 PM. |

Check your "Local Security Settings"
(Administrative Tools -> Local Security Policy -> Local Policies -> User Right Assignment -> Deny access to this computer from the network) There should not be "Guest" in parameters of last item. |

You may need to setup an local account on the XP box since your not in a domain but in a workgroup instead.

Tweaker- the guest account was not in that feild
Post code- I tried making a user account but it doesnt give me a user name or password field at all when I click on the XP computer , just the message |
