Exclamation Battlefield 2 Crashes to Bluescreen on Newly Built Rig

I wrote this thread at Tom's hardware about a week ago to see if this custom build from scratch could run Battlefield 2 at max settings with no FPS hit: Will this Rig run BF2 at Max Settings? - Well it is now built and the rig does in fact play BF2 at max settings as many said, though I sometimes am getting crashes to the Bluescreen of Death now. So far this has happened while playing online but not all the time just intermittantly. BF2 acxtually takes an abnormally long time to load and sometimes doesn't load at all which may be a point of concern (that may be the optical drive becaue the DVD/CD drive makes funny fast/slow spins when I load the game). Though when it's running it's fine. I should point out that the Mobo is actually ATI Crossfire while the Graphics card is XfX Nvidia Geforce 7950GT. Don;t know if that's the problem but thought I should point that out. My System Events only mention DCOM errors The latest as follows :
Quote:
The server {8BC3F05E-D86B-11D0-A075-00C04FB68820} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
I don't even know if that's relevant to the problem but there was also some issues with the Mobo being Wifi and my friend didnt hook up the Wifi on it when it was installed. So that may be another cause as those show up in system event logs as well.

My hardware system specs include the following:

ASUS P5W DH DELUXE/WIFI-AP Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 975X ATX Intel OEM Mobo

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe

2X CORSAIR XMS2 2x 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) RAM

XFX PVT71JYHE9 GeForce 7950GT 512MB

Creative 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Professional Series

ENERMAX Liberty 500W Power Supply 90V~265V

Western Digital Caviar 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler

SAMSUNG Black 18X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 8X DVD+R DL 18X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2M Cache IDE DVD Burner With 12X DVD-RAM Write, LightScribe Technology

COOLER MASTER Mystique 631 RC-631-KWN1-GP Black Aluminum ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

If anyone knows what I might try to stop the Bluescreen of Death errors out of BF2 please let me know what you would try, thx.

Power
Heat
or RAM
memtest86 (www.memtest86.com) for the RAM, let it run for an hour or two
speedfan (http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php) to check out the temperatures and voltages (post back here)

It would help if you told us what the BSOD error was?.. Microsoft kindly provides resource links to most of the BSOD errors, causes to them and a fix.

I'll have to remember to write down all of the BSOD message when it happens again. I haven't run those diagnostics yet but I plan to later when I go to sleep, and will post the results here.

I should point out that the ASUS Mobo came with this thing called PC Probe II, I launched it earlier and it instantly had an alarm going off for my Mobo exceeding the 45 Celsius threshold by 1 (the Mobo temp threshold default was set at 45 and my mobo is at 46). The default CPU rpm Fan Speed threshold is at 800 rpm (my CPU is around 975 rpm with no applications open). The default Chassis 2 fan speed default is 800 rpm (its idling at 1240 rpm atm). The default Power1 rpm is 800 (its at 938 atm), and the default Power 2 rpm is 800 (it's idling at 1180 atm). Don't know if this is important but the alarm scared me.

Once I have the diagnostics results and the BSOD error itself I'll be sure to post back here.

Yeah I have an Asus mobo (A8N32 SLI deluxe) and mines usually around 45C+ and I had to raise the asus pc probe II threshold to make it shut up about the mobo temp.. But yeah, It could mean your motherboard is overheating but check the BSOD first, Overheating usually causes a shutdown, or the motherboard beeps and then fries.
