Hi Billy, sorry for the delay in replying. Yesterday was very hectic and I was unable to get online.

I am glad all is well now but I very much doubt that a Windows Update caused the issue. I am more inclined to think that perhaps a third party program is responsible. Are you still using Avast Antivirus? If so, I would be inclined to uninstall it and install a different antivirus program. AV's scan all downloads and can cause all sorts of weird issues, depending on your configuration.

Why not give Microsoft Security Essentials a try in the meantime. I use it and have found it very good. It's freeware and and light on resources. See here for an independent review.

Worked well for a long time now I'm having the same issue.
The download occurs but once I restart,I get the message that the shortcut has been moved or removed and will no longer work properly.
Has happened this morning with Orca browser and another program I downloaded.
Hope you are all doing well.

Have you tried running System Restore? To do this, click on the Start Orb and type System Restore in the Start Search box and it will appear at the top of the menu. Rightclick on it and choose "Run as Administrator". Pick a date before the problem occurred and follow the prompts.

Reboot when asked.

Erm.....problem fixed.
User account control has been set to off and everything works fine now.
Will post afterward if anything else happens.
Negatively speaking of course.
