I've been watching BBC World News for last 6 hours and have the NYTimes up on PC.

The only time I can remember feeling like this was on the morning of 9/11.

Fun times at Trump towers. News quote:
"Sharemarkets are tumbling in New Zealand, Australia and across Asia after Donald Trump gained the lead in electoral votes in the US presidential election.

With Trump at 167 to Hillary Clinton's 109 at 4.30pm NZT, the NZX50 was down 2.51 per cent, while Australia's ASX200 was down 3.5 per cent.

Dow and S&P futures also plunged, with Dow futures now lower than after the September 11 terror attacks in the US."
You have to admire the insecurity he generates............

Strangely/coincidentally, today is also 9/11 (in the date format we use).

I tuned into MSNBC right before the New York Exchange opened.

The two talking heads were holding forth on the dismal news from the international markets and how the experts were hoping the NY markets would only drop 100 points instead of the 700 they actually expected.

Then the bell rang, the numbers appeared on the screen and started rising...and rising...and rising.

The commentator, still predicting disaster, finally turned to look at the numbers and went stone cold silent for at least 5 seconds...an eternity on live TV. It was a great moment in television history.

Last time I checked (20 minutes ago), NASDAQ was up and the Dow was around 260; apparently refusing to play along with the "we're all gonna' die, it's the end of the world" position all the cools kids are taking.
