Question Cannot locate the internet server or proxy server

I have a document with a link embedded, until recently I was able to click on its address and it would bring up the requested site, now for some reason I get the following message. "unable to open ".................". Cannot locate the internet server or proxy server. Can anyone help with this annoyance?

Robert

If you type the address in your document into a browser can you get the site to open?

Yes, it opens immediately. I have the same doc on my laptop Win 10, and opens with no problem.

OK so the problem is at your end as you can open the link from your browser.

Obviously something has changed since you originally were able to open the link by clicking on it. Possible an update has caused this. Try holding down the control key while you click the link in the document. Does this work?

Holding down the Ctrl key does not work. I do see a quick flash when the link is is clicked upon but nothing else happens.

That's bad luck, we might need a little more information so we can explore other options. For a start in what application is the document written? Name and version please.
